House of Torment. Various dates late September through early November, north - Regularly voted one of the top haunted houses in the nation. It's actually three haunted houses in one 20,000 square foot location. Check website for dates. House of Torment

Dam 5K. November 2, 2013, west - A 5K competitive swimming event at Mansfield Dam in the main basin of Lake Travis. Open to adults 18 and older. Dam 5K


Austin Powwow and American Indian Heritage Festival. November 2, 2013, south - The largest one-day Powwow in the nation, attracting up to 50,000 visitors. Activities include outdoor storytelling, an American Indian arts and crafts fair, and an American Indian dance contest.


Austin Celtic Festival. November 2 - 3, 2013, downtown - Celebrate the heritage and tradition of the Scots, Irish, and more with live performances, music, dance, weaponry, sports, and workshops. Austin Celtic Festival

Carnival O' Pizza. November 9, 2013, south - One of Austin's best-known pizza shops sponsors an event featuring pizza tossing contests, live musical and artistic performances, carnival games, and a raffle to win a reserved table at the restaurant for a year. Light the Night Walk. November 9, 2013, east - A leisurely evening walk with illuminated balloons to support and benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Light the Night Walk


Texas Military Forces Museum World War II Reenactment. November 9 - 10, 2013, west - Watch authentic military vehicles and weapons in action as Camp Mabry's famed G Company volunteers reenact a battle from World War II, complete with pyrotechnics. Komen Race for the Cure. November 10, 2013, downtown - A 5K race and a 1 mile family walk to raise funds for breast cancer education, screening, research, and medical services.


Hyde Park Homes Tour. November 11, 2013, central - A chance to learn about Austin's storied past through an informative tour of several of the historic homes in Austin's Hyde Park neighborhood. A guided tour on the Hyde Park trolley or self-guided on foot or bike. Hyde Park Homes Tour


Austin Fan Fest. November 15 - 17, 2013, central - Celebration of the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix. Over 100 top-name performers on multiple stages, indoor parties, street performers, show cars, simulators, games, kids' zone, and more. Austin Fan Fest


Austin Chocolate Festival. November 16 - 17, 2013, downtown - Chocolatiers, restaurants, bakeries, and artists compete against one another, sell their products, and offer samples. The festival raises money for multiple sclerosis and breast cancer. Austin Chocolate Festival


Holiday Sing-Along and Downtown Stroll. November 18, 2013 - January 1, 2014, downtown - Sponsored by the Downtown Austin Alliance since 1993, this six-week extravaganza transforms the Downtown area into a holiday wonderland. Junior League of Austin Holiday Decorations Sale. November 19 - 23, 2014, west - This unique Austin tradition brings together merchants and Christmas shoppers to benefit the Junior League, dedicated to promoting volunteerism and improving the local community. Operation Blue Santa. November 20 - December 14, 2013, east - Sponsored by the Austin Police Dept. since 1972, Operation Blue Santa receives donations and provides food and toys to needy children and families in Austin. Events include a breakfast auction, Christmas film screenings, automobile VIN etching, and a donations to the east Austin warehouse, culminating with delivery day and a thank-you BBQ for volunteers. Comic Con. November 22 - 24, 2013, east - A variety-filled, family-friendly event featuring comics, games, costumes, shopping, and lots of other things such as movies and TV, toys, and wrestling and MMA. Turkey Trot. November 28, 2013, downtown - Work up an appetite for later with this Thanksgiving morning tradition in Austin. Over 20,000 turn out each year for a five-mile and one-mile race, with a special route for kids. Proceeds benefits Caritas of Austin, a local social services organization. Turkey Trot


Madrigal Dinner. November 28 - 30, 2013, central - A decades-old University of Texas tradition, this event includes an original live comedy, choir concert, and a four-course dinner. Madrigal Dinner


Blue Genie Art Bazaar. November 29 - December 24, 2013, north - Over 130 local artisans display their inventory just in time for the holiday shopping season. A good way to pick up one-of-a-kind, uniquely Austin artwork while supporting local artists. All participating artists undergo a rigorous application and selection process. Blue Genie Art Bazaar

Holiday Swing. November 30, 2013, north - Hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, live dances, and an orchestra. Also a raffle. Proceeds benefit support of services for Austinites with AIDS. Holiday Swing


Chuy's Children Giving to Children Parade. November 30, 2013, downtown - A downtown parade with holiday floats, classic cars, children's characters, and marching bands. At a designated time the parade stops to receive toys from spectators. Toys are donated to Operation Blue Santa for distribution to needy local children. Chuy's Children Giving to Children Parade

Renegade Craft Fair. November 30 - December 1, 2013, central - This event brings talented artisans and craftspeople for a display and sale of handmade jewelry, furniture, lighting displays, bath and beauty products, screen-printed art, paper products, and more. There are also hands-on workshops, a photobooth, and specialty food and drinks. The event originated in Chicago in 2003 and is now held in several cities in the U.S. and Europe. Renegade Craft Fair
