Texas Longhorns football baseball

As of yet, Austin doesn't host any major-league professional sports teams. But there are plenty of sporting events here. Austin in fact is a passionate sports town. The University of Texas has nationally ranked men's and women's teams in various sports, and there is fervent support across central Texas for the Longhorns. The university has championship-level teams and athletes in a number of sports. The football team in particular has a zealous following in town.

The Round Rock Express minor league baseball team plays at Dell Diamond in Round Rock.

The Texas Stars are an American Hockey League team. It is the top affiliate of the NHL Dallas Stars. The team plays in Cedar Park, just northwest of Austin.

Austin Toros

The Austin Toros are a team in the National Basketball Association Development League, and league champions in the 2011-2012 season.

Austin Outlaws

The Austin Outlaws are a women's professional football team in the Women's Football Alliance. They play their home games at Westlake High School.

Circuit of the Americas

Circuit of the Americas is an automobile and motorcycle racing circuit east of Austin. It has hosted several major racing events including the Formula One Grand Prix in November, 2012.
