It's My Park! Day. March 1, 2014, various locations - On the first Saturday in March each year, join over 3,500 volunteers in 90 service projects to clean up and upgrade the city's public parks.

Heart of Texas Regatta. March 1 - 2, 2014, central - A nationally recognized two-person boat race. Includes Masters, Open, and Junior events on a 1000 meter course. Over 1,400 participants attend each year. Heart of Texas Regatta

Celebrate Texas. March 1 - 4, 2013, central - A four-day celebration of Texas independence featuring a 5K run, parade, ceremony, and golf tournament. Celebrate Texas

Rodeo Austin. March 1 - 16, 2014, east - More than just a rodeo, this is a huge extravaganza that offers something for most everyone. A carnival, petting zoo, wild west show, food court, live concerts, livestock show, art show, horse show, and shopping area are some of the features. SFC Farmers Market. March 1 - 29, 2014, multiple locations - The SFC Farmers Market is held each Saturday from 9-1, and each Tuesday and Wednesday from 3-7. Since 1975, the mission of the Sustainable Food Center (SFC) mission has been to cultivate a healthy community by strengthening the local food system and improving access to nutritious, affordable food. Explore UT. March 2, 2013, central - A free open-house of the University of Texas (UT) campus that includes special exhibits, performances, lectures, and family-oriented activities. Intended mainly for Texas school children and their parents, but the event is free and open to all. Explore UT

First Thursday. March 7, 2013, south - The first Thursday of each month, stores in the South Congress Ave. shopping district stay open late, some serve drinks and have special sales, and some restaurants and bars have drink specials. Street musicians also perform. First Thursday

South By Southwest. March 9-18, 2013, central - SXSW is one of the most well known Austin events, and one of the most prominent film, music, and business conventions in the nation. Many notable films and businesses gained international attention through SXSW. Examples are the Academy Award-winning movie The Hurt Locker, which had its U.S. premiere in SXSW 2009, and Twitter, which gained wide recognition from its participation in SXSW 2007. Heart of Texas Rockfest. March 11 - 16, 2014, various locations - Timed to coincide with South By Southwest, the Rockfest showcases hundreds of indie and unsigned bands from around Austin and the southwestern U.S. Performances are held in nightclubs and bars and on outdoor stages. Rosedale Ride. March 23, 2013, north - A charity bicycle ride with 26, 42, and 62 mile courses and a kids' 2 mile course. Raises money for the Rosedale School, Austin's only public school for children with multiple disabilities. Rosedale Ride

Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays. March 27 - 30, 2013, central - Annual showcase of collegiate track and field ability when college teams from around Texas compete on the University of Texas campus.

Austin Urban Music Festival. March 29-30, 2013, downtown - The Live Music Capital of the World celebrates R&B, pop, soul, and more with continual live performances over two days by well-known performers. Austin Urban Music Festival

St. James Church 5K. March 29, 2014, east - Sponsored by St. James Mission Bible Church, this is a 5K or 1K run to promote health and fitness. Event also includes a health fair, nutrition education, physical fitness training, and children's activities. St. James Church 5K

Statesman Capitol 10K. March 30, 2014, downtown - Serious amateur runners participate in the largest 10K race in Texas and the fifth largest in the U.S. Sponsored by the Austin-American Statesman to benefit Dell Children's Medical Center. Statesman Capitol 10K
