Not to imply that the others aren't social, but the groups and associations listed here organize social events and gatherings that are not based around a particular activity, background, or interest. Just to bring people together.

Austin Newcomers
Holds luncheons and welcome events for new arrivals to Austin. Also over 50 special interest groups. A good way to learn about the city first-hand and get connected.

Supper Friends
Holds intimate, bring-your-own-beverage dinners every few days at a restored 1930s-era bungalow-style house in east Austin.
