Anderson Mill Neighborhood Guide

Summary

Anderson Mill is a neighborhood of about 15,000 households nestled just south of the intersection between Hwy. 183 and Hwy. 45. Just north of the neighborhood is Lakeline Mall, a major shopping center. There are also several parks in or near the neighborhood, as well as golf courses, coffee shops, and restaurants.

Homes here were built around 1980 and are small to moderate in size. The population is  ethnically diverse with a mixture of Mexican, Asian, and European ancestry.

Features

Anderson Mill is a middle class neighborhood located close to major shopping centers, restaurants, parks, and golf courses in northwest Austin. Lakeline Mall just north of the neighborhood has over 150 stores and a cinema. Around the mall are a number of local and chain restaurants. Also close are a Walmart, Target, and two supermarkets.

For outdoor recreation, Balcones Country Club and Avery Ranch Golf Club are nearby. There are several local parks nearby including Old Stage Park which has tennis courts and a dog off-leash area. The neighborhood has a swimming pool and also its own fitness club, which is small but complete. There are several commercial health clubs also in the area.

The neighborhood is adjacent to Hwy. 45 and 183, two major local highways, giving easy access to the rest of the city. The area is close to the high-tech companies of north Austin and not far from downtown.

The neighborhood population is a combination of different races. The majority work in management, professional, or sales and service occupations. The neighborhood association sponsors several events.
