Cherry Creek Neighborhood Guide

Summary

Cherry Creek consists of a group of residential subdivisions in a suburban area of far south Austin but with easy access to major local highways. It is a mixture of established residents, families, and singles who work in Austin but want to be able to leave it all behind in the evenings. Streets lined with mature oak trees host a variety of different homes and properties.

Features

Cherry Creek began development in the 1970s and continued into the 1990s. Along with long-time residents are new arrivals who appreciate the neighborhood's convenient yet secluded location. Cherry Creek has easy access to the attractions of Austin's downtown and SoCo areas via car or public bus, but is far enough to get away from it all. Additionally, the neighborhood itself has parks and many local stores, restaurants, gyms, and other businesses, some of which are within walking distance for many residents. The neighborhood association is active and supports a sense of community through neighborhood events.
