Jester Estates is just off Hwy. 2222 and 360, two major west Austin highways that give access to downtown and the rest of the city. The neighborhood has many open spaces for running, biking, or walking among the Texas hills. The area is attractive to many because of its convenient location, open green spaces, and good views. Residents with children have access to highly rated schools.
Within the neighborhood itself is a community center with a swimming pool, tennis courts, and a large, enclosed playscape with a zipline for kids. The neighborhood association is active and sponsors several annual events including an Easter Egg hunt and a Fourth of July parade.
Jester Hill is a centerpiece of the neighborhood and a popular place for residents to hike and bike. (It is about a four minute bike ride to the top). The neighborhood has other hiking and bike paths winding through the hills.
Shopping is convenient with Davenport Village and the Arboretum close to the neighborhood. Davenport Village has several local restaurants and a gym. The Arboretum is an outdoor shopping center containing many retail stores, supermarkets, and chain restaurants. There are also movie theaters, a bookstore, and cafes.
Recently, more development has taken place around the area, including a commercial 24-hour health club, restaurants, and a convenience store. For golfers, Great Hills Country Club is also close to the area.
