The neighborhood is bounded by Lake Austin on the north and Bee Cave Rd., a major west Austin thoroughfare, on the south. The various sections of Lake Pointe offer a range of one-story and two-story homes starting at $200K and going over $1 million.
Many are attracted to living in Lake Pointe because of the many opportunities for outdoor recreation. The neighborhood includes a hike and bike trail, a park with a pool and playscape, and of course the lake. Nearby is the University of Texas Golf Club, which includes a deluxe practice facility, fitness center, and a clubhouse that contains dining rooms, a bar, and a golf shop.
Residents are required to join the homeowner's association, which maintains the community facilities and landscaping. The association takes an active part in preserving the neighborhood's environment and natural scenery.
The Hill Country Galleria, a high-end shopping mall, is two miles away and includes retail and department stores, salon and spa, several restaurants, and a movie theater. The town of Bee Cave, of which Lake Pointe is technically a part, also has new shopping centers. There is also The Backyard, a local live music venue with a continual playlist of artists, and a wide selection of other restaurants in the area.
