Features

West Congress is small neighborhood of about 3,000 tucked in between three major local thoroughfares: South Congress Ave., South First St., and Hwy. 71. It is a place for individuals and families seeking a quiet, laid-back, live-and-let-live place to call home.

There are a lot of young couples and families here. There are also a lot of St. Edward's University students, attracted by the neighborhood's proximity to the campus and by the many apartment complexes with low rents. There's not a strong sense of community, but at the same time the residents tend to be low-key and tolerant.

The neighborhood is close to SoCo and downtown, but far enough away so there's a bit less traffic and bustle. Getting around is convenient, with multiple public bus routes running through the neighborhood.

There are many casual dining places here, including places to get tacos.
