Southeast Austin Neighborhoods

Southeast Austin is a large, diverse region. Some sections include residential communities with bungalow-style homes, others have college apartment complexes and commercial storefronts and warehouses, and still others, rural landscapes and state parks.

Although it encompasses some of the lower-income parts of town, southeast Austin is gradually revitalizing. Older, rundown homes are being torn down and replaced with newer, larger houses. More singles, couples, and families are moving here as they discover the inexpensive housing and convenience of being close to downtown.

Southeast Austin is the home to a number of major Austin highlights, including spacious McKinney Falls State Park, several city golf courses, Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, and the recently opened Circuit of the Americas F1 racetrack.
